So it's finally all over...

Yesterday, I officially became a West Virginia University ALUMNI! It is very bittersweet.

I had to get to the Colisuem at 1:00, graduation was at 2:00. It was so disorganized. We basically just wandered through the hallways on the second floor of the circular building until we found tables to grab our card. Then we had to wander some more to find familiar professors and faces. Then we had to get into alphabetical order that was pretty funny because we got in order then we had to snake down the hallway a few times to get back downstairs then we walked down like 3 more flights of stairs to the floor level of the Colisuem which we thankfully did not have to walk down the stairs where all of the families were. We were finally there after waiting upstairs for an hour just standing in abc order. But guess what happened... There were only 5 seats left on the floor for the 150+ left to be seated. I was in the last 5 seats. FIVE seats for 150 people. They had to sit in the back of the floor on the bleachers! THEN they combined my major.. Criminology and Investigations into the Sociology and Anthropology majors. We got to our seats and looked at our program! We were NOT supposed to be together!!! Obviously!  Therefore the order was messed up and my major was then skipped because we were with the Soc majors. Then after sitting and listening to all the names being called they got to my row of people and skipped it! Everyone around me was confused, we were all mad, frustrated and everything. Then they started to go to the last rows skipping our rows completely. Finally they came to us but since we were grouped wrong we all got called Soc majors. I did not go to school for sociology!!  I didn't even get recognized as my own major.

To look at the bright side I did get my Diploma sadly the part that says Criminology is so tiny! And it says Sociology and Anthropology at the top in big bold letters. The Criminology is very tiny in italics under my name and you can barely see it or read it. But I did get my Diploma which is more then I can say for some other people.

Finals

So, I am sitting here trying to study for finals. But I really don't care anymore. I can't fail any of my classes, so there is no way that I won't graduate. I have a final at 3 in terrorism but I don't care!!

Besides, my damn toe hurts. I broke it on Friday. It's gross its black, blue and purple. I have it taped to one of my other toes. :(

I can't seem to concentrate on anything at the moment. I just want to go back to bed! I just want this week to be over. I just want to be done with school. I just want to walk across that stage and get my diploma!!!!

So here we are done to the last week of finals! Then one more week until GRADUATION!!! That's right I'm graduating on the 13th. I completed my million years of school. I did my four years of college and now I am done!!! I do not ever have to listen to another lecturing professor... I can't believe all I have to do is take 4 finals then its all over.
It's bittersweet.

How many lives could have been spared?

33 dead including the murderer; 29 wounded several in critical conditions
Will this number rise over night?

I have a class on terrorism and just on Friday we were talking about how Columbine's anniversary is Friday and Hitler's Birthday, we were saying how we wouldn't be surprised if there were threats of shootings or bombings. But to wake up and realize it did happen is unreal. It could have easily been in any school in the United States any college in the U.S. It could have easily been here at WVU or anywhere. It just goes to show that nothing is a guarantee and your never absolutely safe no matter where you are. I hope perhaps this time people come out of this tragedy with a little more knowledge and be more aware or whats going on around you. And hopefully this tragedy at VT teaches every school to have a plan and a system to INFORM students. Because HOW many of those people could still be alive right now if they had been informed and the campus closed and on lock down!!! HOW MANY!?!?!?!

Think about it your in a classroom and someone just walks in and starts pumping the room with 22s! At your college or university, a classroom that you visit at least 2 times a week probably 3. A classroom and a campus where you should feel safe, not where you have to keep on the edge of your seat in fear of a shooting. Or even worse, your dorm!! Your in your 'home' and someone comes in and shoots you. Your home away from home.

America has become a place where you have to live in fear of terrorist attacks from other countries, but not only do we have to worry about another September 11th attack. We have to worry about going to class. Or our brothers and sisters in school, or your future or current children to school. Have we really become as bad as Iraq with suicide bombers? We have become a nation where we must fear to go to school...

Thanksgiving was hella fun!

I was invited to go spend Thanksgiving break in Colorado with Shiloh and his dad! I was so excited to go and see the Rocky Mountains. Well, after pulling an all nighter on Wednesday night. Went to the Pittsburgh game on Thursday then I couldn't fall asleep. Pulled another all nighter Friday night. Shiloh's Mom and brothers came to watch him play hockey and didn't leave until 3:30am then we had to pack to go to Colorado.

So, finally about the trip. We flew into Denver International where we met up with Shiloh's Dad. He was such a nice guy! Anyways, we went sightseeing and saw Evergreen and drove up to Red Rocks and a few other places up in the Mountains. Sunday, we did more sightseeing and met some more people. Monday we went to Arapahoe Basin and we all went snowboarding. YES! I WENT SNOWBOARDING IN THE ROCKIES!!! It was completely awesome. I had never been snowboarding before. It was soooooo much fun, but it was hard too. Wednesday, we recovered from snowboarding, by the way Shiloh's knee was hurt during his hockey game so we needed to rest his knee. We went to Indian Springs to the Hot Springs. That was really cool. Naturally heated swimming. Then his friend Josh came over. He was an awesome guy. He brought his guitar and we all went outside and sat around a fire and he played and sang for us. He was really good at it too. Wednesday we went snowboarding again!!!! All day too! We went to Arapahoe Basin again then to Keystone Resort for night snowboarding. This time I got the hang of the whole snowboarding thing and was going down the slope by myself. All thanks to Shiloh for teaching me!!! Man, it was soo much fun I want to go again and again. Thursday was Thanksgiving and we went to the movies with a bunch of people I think we could have took up an entire row of seat if we all sat together... Friday we had to sadly come back to Morgantown. However, the flight back was really nice. We got to sit FIRST CLASS on both flights. Which meant free alcohol! We didnt get back into Morgantown until after midnight even though we left at 2pm Colorado's time. Which is another thing. I actually got to go to another time zone!!! Anyways, Shiloh's Mom and Step-dad came into town to watch that horrible game with USF which I am not going to talk about.

Shiloh's Dad ended up giving me a snowboard and snowboarding boots, along with some snowpants and googles to bring back to Morgantown to go snowboarding at Wisp. That was soooo nice of him. So, now I have my own board to go snowboarding with!!! I'm so excited I can't wait to get really good at it!
